Surprising BT are quite relaxed when it comes to dress code. Smart Casual usually does the job with Fridays being ‘dress down Fridays’.

However if you do have a day with meetings or events it is always good to come looking smart as you want to make a good impression.

There is no dress code, so people come in what they want, but it tends to be smart casual. Usually shirt no tie sort of dress, or just trousers and a polo shirt. Some people wear ties, but that is becoming less and less. If there are important supplier meetings or big events, it is probably best to dress smarter, but it is not a necessity.

I work in a University where it’s pretty casual, I wear jeans and a t-shirt / casual shirt most days.

There is no official dress code in the Ministry of Defence, but most people will wear smart/casual business dress throughout the week, with Friday being dress-down Friday. As Allanah has said, if you have a meeting or important event, it’s good to make sure you look smart to make a good impression.

Rolls Royce has a casual dress code. Apart from at Buckingham Gate, which is the HQ, where the code is smart: suits and ties.
Apprentices and young apprentices wear smart trousers not jeans and a Rolls Royce polo shirt. It’s the same for the factory floor where they also wear personal protective clothing like boiler suits. In the offices, we wear casual clothes with Rolls Royce polo shirts. Friday is ‘dress down’ day, if the weather’s warm enough people have been known to wear shorts to work!
